Music on the Beach

Friday nights in King's Beach there is a free concert on the beach we try to get to as much as possible. Gotta love a Friday night off, sitting in the sand and enjoying some music during the sunset.

Brewery Adventure

Owen and I checked out the new local brewery in Tahoe City. Great hefeweizen for five bucks, and we can't resist anywhere you can sit outside and people watch.

Things That Make Me Smile

Just a little collection of things I found on the internet today that made me smile : )

Perfect for hanging next to your bedroom mirror for a little self confidence pick-me-up.

Beach time!

SO cute!

Girl time.

Ryan Gosling. Enough said.

A good reminder to stay interesting.

I love finding new favorite blogs! Even if they are in another language. Check out http://www.seamsforadesire.com/

The most adorable note by a little one that reminds you to still say I love you even when you're mad!

And I have recently discovered Matt Kearney's music, makes me smile every time I play a song! (Try "Undeniable" and "Ships in the Night")

Happy Saturday : )

I'm Back!

Hello friends! It has been a very long time since the last time I posted, and I'd like to blame it on summer. Once the sunshine started to heat up Tahoe, I have been going like a crazy woman trying to fit as much into my days as I can. And sadly, my poor little blog was pushed to the side.

But no more! I am back!

Here is a little recap of the last month -

About a month ago was the closing day of Squaw Valley. Every year they host a pond skimming event, where skiers who signed up dress up in a crazy costume and try to make it all the way across a pond on their skis without crashing. And if that doesn't seem hard enough, everyone who is watching is throwing snowballs at them. The winner made it down the mountain and across the pond on skis while dressed as a chef holding an actual grill cooking burgers on it. Impressive, no?

We had a huge group of friends barbecuing in the sun watching it after one last day of skiing.

Since then, the weather warmed up and beach time began. Since I live one minute from the lake, I have been going before work, after work and on pretty much every day off. Love it!

Volleyball has begun again, and although I lost every bit of skill I gained last year, I'm hoping they can make a dramatic comeback by July.

I did a four hour hike up and around Squaw with two girls and one crazy mama who forged through snowy terrain with a thirty pound pack on her (and was less sore the next day than I was might I add). It was worth it for the amazing views at the top and great girl talk.

One of us may have passed out on the way back from too much apple juice, singing the ABC's and chillin' with his lion friend Judah.

We had one rainy evening finally, so I sat outside and enjoyed it with a glass of wine.

Softball games were watched (I hear #49 is the best player)

We also have become expert grillers.

We also got to roadtrip to Vegas, where I was the maid of honor in my beautiful friend's wedding. Such a great time, beautiful ceremony, and fun with friends.

Also, whoever came up with the idea of a pina colada cup with a spray bottle built in should win some sort of "Greatness" prize. Just sayin.

(and no I am not naked in the last photo, it just appears that way)

Anddd lastly our pool opened. This is where I am heading to right now and am finally going to start the Hunger Games. Yes, I know I am two years late with that.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their summer!
